About Vitality Works

We are a team of health professionals who have always questioned the limits and boundaries of our professional learning.  Collectively we have 50 years of experience and personal development and use this knowledge to expand and encourage one another to look beyond and continue to evolve.

Suzy Greenwood BSc (Hons) MCSP; MCHPC, MAIYP

I have always been active and enjoyed and engaged in movement in some form, from playing tennis, netball and hockey as a young person and then discovering Yoga when I travelled to the far East when I was 19. I have subsequently always been drawn and inspired by the Eastern philosophies of optimal health and especially in terms of the foundation of well-being through the body, mind and heart. I trained and qualified as a Physiotherapist in 1994 and continued to explore Yoga and Meditation alongside, qualifying as a Yoga Teacher in India in 2000. I currently work, run my clinics and teach Yoga in Hove, Herstmonceaux and Halland in East Sussex.

I have always been curious, from blowing up my mums hoover as a young boy to creating an award winning sustainable Integrative medical practice. I am in awe of the beauty and power of nature and get passionate about whatever I am immersed in. After leaving school I trained as a plasterer and built my first house at 24. There were times when I couldn’t balance the creativity of building with its environmental impact, so needing to express my passion in a different direction I went to medical school.

I have always enjoyed good food and been intrigued by the natural world around me, from a childhood fascination with owls to the wonderful world of human microbiology as an adult nutritionist. My mother was a fantastic cook, as a family we enjoyed her delicious food round the kitchen table, and her ‘5-star’ picnics were legendary, I learnt to cook by helping her in the kitchen. I loved biology and science at school but also had a passion for art, so I originally studied textile design at university. After graduating, I enrolled on an internship programme that took me to New York and into the world of recruitment. I continued in this field when I returned to London but never found fulfilment in this career, however I met my wonderful husband at work so I believe all things happen for a reason!

Katherine Crawshaw

Behaviour change and marketing specialist. Focussed on understanding behaviour to drive health and social change at personal, community and national level. I started my career in marketing at Cancer Research UK. And it was there I first realised the power of behaviour change - learning about the links between lifestyle and cancer, and the complicated pattern of influences on our choices. Since then I've worked in the other charities and the NHS developing interventions to tackle issues including childhood obesity, smoking, and the use of health services. I've also led on campaigns to change people's attitudes and behaviour around mental health for Time To Change, England's campaign to end mental health discrimination. Away from campaigns, I'm a mum of four, and love beaches, hills and running.
